The 3pH Wash System

Vehicle contamination is not one material. Oil, insects, traffic film, water spots, mineral deposits and fine dirt respond to different chemistry, so one shampoo cannot remove them all efficiently. The Andrew Rose 3pH Wash System runs three products in sequence — alkaline, acidic, then neutral — so the chemistry does more of the cleaning before the wash mitt touches the paint.
Step 1 — Alkaline Pre-Wash: breaks down organic grime
pH 10.5 Alkaline Pre-Wash (ARD-WASH-068) loosens and lifts oil, insects, traffic film and road grime. Dilute 1:10 to 1:30 for foam (1:1 for heavy soiling), allow to dwell, then rinse thoroughly before the next step.
Step 2 — Acidic Pre-Wash: removes mineral deposits
pH 4.5 Acidic Pre-Wash (ARD-WASH-026) targets what alkaline chemistry leaves behind: water spots, calcium, mineral build-up and acid-rain residue that sit on paint and coatings and dull gloss and water repellency. Dilute 1:10 to 1:30 for foam (1:1 for maximum mineral removal). Do not let it dry on hot panels; rinse thoroughly.
Step 3 — Neutral Foam: the safe contact wash
Snow Foam Shampoo & Clay Lube 2-in-1 (ARD-WASH-073) is a neutral, ultra-thick foam, diluted 1:100 to 1:400. Use it with a wash mitt; the foam's lubrication reduces friction as the mitt moves. Work top to bottom, leave the dirtiest areas until last, and rinse thoroughly.

The point is not to make washing more complicated. It is to let the right chemistry do more of the work, so the paint needs less rubbing.
